Offering some interesting elements involved in the show, Producer Sameer says, “The series is set against the backdrops of an old mansion in Royapettah. Apparently, Mansions have always been the uncrowned emblem of this Metropolitan city from a very long time. It has been the sanctuary of many dreamers and aspirers, who started their lives in Chennai from the scratch. Well, Madras Mansion will have its domain spread out across the busy lanes with Tea Kadai, ladies hostel, crowded vegetable and Kirana Market. In a short span of distance is Metro Rail Station and lots of temples around, which are frequently beautified with the angelic women (Azhagu Devathaigal) relentlessly.”
Having endowed us with lights into this zone, the producer gives a short distinct look of major characters involved in the drama. “Brimmed with various dreams and goals, we will see An aspiring director, A meme creator, A marketing executive, Real estate brokers and many such characters.”
One of the greatest spotlighting factors would be theme song composed by Darbuka Siva and sung by Anthony Daasan.
“Being associated with VIU to come up with new age content is really bliss to any filmmaker like me. Bringing forth a new benchmark in digital content space in Tamil happens to be motto of VIU. I am sure; each episode of every series will prove of such illustrations. In a precise manner, I would say, this will be offering a new of its kind experience to Tamil audiences,” tots up Sameer.
Imparting some of his personal reflections involved in the crafting and making process of Madras Mansion, director Athiappan Siva says, “There is nothing paradisiacal as one’s own home town. But when they have to set apart from their birth place and seek refuge in alien land for pursuing their dreams, there would be a hub to offer them solace and shelter. This will be the major premise of the story Madras Mansion. With lots of signboards outside the houses for rent of paper advertisements claiming ‘This is only for family’ and ‘Not for non-vegetarians’ and beautified prisons like ‘Gated Community’, Mansions are the only place that breaks all such barriers and keeps its door open for them. The major pride of Madras Mansion would be the realistic characters like starving but unceasing to win in Tinsel town, a feeble engineering graduate on the run for more than a year to get a job, A 40-yr old man still floating on imaginations of being a teen and such of this sort with lots of dreams and talents. Despites most of their dreams not conquered and situational urge to adapt what is offered to them, these people have the charm of translating their worries into joy. This is the magic of Madras Mansion. This 13-episode web series will have the central characters offering their sarcastic gesture upon Mansion owner to the nearby tea stall Nair.” says director Athiappan Siva.
Winding up with his words of emotional touch, he says, “The actors in this web series started off their friendship with casual ‘Bro’ greeting and by the end got themselves emotionally bounded as a family. I feel this as a real big joy of ‘Madras Mansion’ impact and am sure audience will have something special to connect with.”
