A Racy Thriller By Genre, Jiivi Wraps Up Shoot In Same Mode

Sometimes, just a film’s genre is, so should be the way the film is shot. Although, it sounds like a hypothetical statement, it looks the film JIIVI starring Vetri (8 Thottakkal fame) in lead role has proved it effectively. An edge seated thriller with raciness as its genre, it is exciting to see the shooting itself has been carried out and wrapped up in such a momentum of single stretch schedule.

“Maybe, that could be a hilarious pinch of theory for genre and its impact with shooting,” jokingly starts off producer M. Vella Pandian, who with a non-pause gesture says, “But all praise goes to director V.J. Gopinath. Despites being a first timer, his perfect planning and his ability to contrive it accordingly surprised us to the core. It happens that a debut filmmaker might impress a producer with unconventional storylines and engrossing narrations, but it’s hard to maintain discipline to stick with deadlines. I am so elated that Gopinath has proved of such potentials.”

On his part director V.J. Gopinath opines, “This would haven’t been possible without the complete cooperation of producer. His genuineness in imparting freedom to my creative approach made my job easier to complete the process. Moreover, it’s a boon for any director to get a producer of such qualities and I feel blessed. But it adds more responsibility on my shoulders to complete the post-production work and present him the final output as promised.”

With intense suspense element spread out in the premise of this story, Jiivi deals with human emotions that are bounced between science and mysticism. Vetri, who proved his immense performance in 8 Thottakkal, has essayed yet another unconventional protagonist’s role.

The director also thanks Ashwin and Monika, who have played female lead roles for their complete dedication. “There were few sequences in the film, which demanded efficacious performance from these artists. With time constraints as a major barricade, they gave an absolute spell,” says ‘Jiivi’ filmmaker, who adds that Karunakaran was a real big support, who in spite of his other projects gave full dates.

Finally, totting up with the greatest thanksgiving upon cinematographer Praveen Kumar, he says, “He has been the major pillar throughout the shoot. With deadlines to complete the shoot on time adding some pressure, his outstanding job helped us achieve the best.”

The director believes that with a National award winner like Praveen KL to offer his editing strokes and musical score by Sundaramurthy KS, the final output will be a delight to all. In addition, the deepest involvement of IB Karthikeyan Big Print Pictures as Line Producer and writing of dialogues and script penned by Babu Tamizh add more substantiality to the film.
