Mu Maran Speaks About Iravukku Aayiram Kangal

Iravukku Aayiram Kangal has set the expectations right on radar for scintillating trailer. The film featuring Arulnithi, Mahima Nambiar and Ajmal in lead roles is scheduled for release on May 11. Journalist turned filmmaker Mu Maran makes his directorial debut with this film.

Having penned his stories for leading Tamil magazines like Ananda Vikatan, Kumudham and Kalki, he embarked on his journey in films, All thanks to Crazy Mohan, who helped him step into showbiz. Having been associated with top league directors like Suresh Krishna, KS Ravikumar, KV Anand and Raghava Lawrence, he finally his gates opened for directorial journey through producer G Dilli Babu of Axess Film Factory.

Being a writer, he has emphasized a unique storytelling method in IAK. “Non-linear storytelling will be the greatest highlight in this film. The film is an action thriller with a running length of 2 hours.” Furthermore, Mu Maran adds that all the characters in the film are named after the famous characters in detective novels penned by top league novelists like Sujatha, Bala Kumaran, Subha and Pattukottai Prabhakar. “Both the hero and heroine names Bharath and Susheela are picked from novels of Pattukottai Prabhakar, Ajmal (Ganesh) and John Vijay (Vasanth) are from the novel of Sujatha, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan’s character name Vyjayanthi and Vidya Pradeep’s Anitha are cherry picked from the books of SUBHA,” says Maaran.

Sharing his experience working with Arulnithi, Maaran utters, “Initially, I was little nervous to work with Arulnithi. I had certain predetermined mindset that he hails from a big family background and he is bit reserved as well. But sooner, he realized my uneasiness and came forward to clear off the clouds. He was so supportive throughout the shoot, especially during critical situations. He always preferred to be there with his active participation on the shooting spot.”

Getting on to speak about Ajmal, He adds, “Ajmal plays negative role in this film and his characterization is as powerful as Arulnithi. He was earlier approached to play negative role in Thani Oruvan, which he refused and later felt bad for it. Apparently, he didn’t want to miss the opportunity and immediately accepted to play this role in Iravukku Aayiram Kangal. The action sequence between Ajmal and Arulnithi will one of the highlights in this film.”

While shedding lights on others in the star-cast, Maran tots up “Every actor in the film has equal prominence. Mahima Nambiar plays a nurse and Vidya Pradeep has an important role to perform. 60% of the film is shot during night times and major portions were in rain. Both Arulnithi and Anand Raj even had fever, but never gave up and consistently shot for the film. Portions involving Anand Raj will be humorous as well.”
