Documentary of farmer’s death in TN

A documentary on continuing deaths of farmers in Tamilnadu, directed by journalist K Rajiv Gandhi.

GV Prakash scores music, National award winner Filmmaker Raju Murugan pens lyrics and voice over by Nationalaward winning actor-filmmaker Samuthirakani.

Monsoon failed last year and there was severe drought and farming was greatly affected. As a result, many agriculturists ended their lives. Over 200 died. It is now being chronicled as a documentary .

Waterbodies across Tamilnadu dried up. Farmers were shocked to see their crops go dry, Many shocked at the sight died. A few chose the extreme step too.

Senior journalist Rajiv Gandhi  has travelled nook and corner of the State and met the families of the deceased. Interviewed them to come up with a documentray titled KOLAI VILAIYUM NILAM.

He not just analyses a problem but offers a solution.

‘Ammana ammana desthilae…’ is the song written by Raju Murugan for the documentary, which is set to tunes by G V Prakash. Samuthirakani in his baritone voice narrates the plight of farmers. Johan of Metro and Uru fame scores background music.

Karthik kumar has cranked the camera while editing is by Rajesh Kannan and Ramesh Yuvi. Sathakadhulla has produced the movie in association with journalist  S. Kavitha.

It will screened for leaders of various political parties, and will be sent to various international film festivals.
