2109 Drum Beats in just 60 Seconds – A new Guinness Record by 19 year old Siddharth Nagarajan

Prodigies are born and they reach unattainable heights at a very early stage of their life with their commitment and passion. A young drummer and percussionist, Siddharth Nagarajan has now added beauty for that drums and percussion instruments by creating a new record in Guinness. It is to be noted that his father Nagi is a renowned Drummer, percussionist and rhythm programmer, who records with almost all the music directors in the film industry including Sri Ilayaraja and Vidyasagar.Siddharth has made it to the Guinness by playing 2109 drumbeats in one minute, using drumsticks, i.e. approximately 35 beats in a second, breaking the record of Australian drummer George Urosevic, who played 1589 beats. Besides this, Siddharth holds 2 limca records, 3 records in the India book of records and 1 in the Asia book of records. Born in a family of musicians, the self-taught drummer Siddharth also holds.a doctorate for his thesis in fast Drumming and he was identified by the national geographic channel as one of the 7 geniuses in the world in 2007.

Being a Balshree recipient, the percussionist Siddharth has been invited as a solo performer on the birthday of late former president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in Rashtrapathi Bhavan at his age of 6. The new Guinness record holder Siddharth is presently performing regularly with Mandolin U.Rajesh, Aalaap Raju, Naresh Iyer etc.
